Introduction
How does trauma affect students' lives?
When playing sports, sometimes we may encounter unforeseen events, which are often associated with injuries, fractures, and mistakes. The occurrence of injuries is diverse, injuries could be caused by a blow, a fall, a sharp change in body position, a collision, stretching, twisting, etc.
Types of injury
Severe injuries are injuries that lead to pronounced health problems and lead to the impossibility of sports and educational work for a period of more than a month.
Moderate injuries are injuries that significantly impair physical ability over a period of 10 to 30 days.
Minor injuries are injuries that have little effect on health and do not lead to loss of sports performance (abrasions, abrasions, superficial wounds, minor bruises, sprains).
Primary injuries are injuries that occur suddenly. Occur due to negligence or mechanical impact).
Caused by overloads. Sports injuries of the elbow (tennis), shoulder (swimming, throwing the ball, throwing), lower leg (running), knee and spine (gymnastics, weightlifting, wrestling, football).
Repeated. In case of incomplete recovery of an athlete after an injury, the risk of a new injury increases, since the load goes not only to the past injury site, but also to the rest of the body in order to compensate.
Classification of injuries
Damage to ligaments
Damage to muscles and tendons
Сlosed tissue injury
Dislocation
Fractured bone
Abrasion
Open wound
Concussion
Injury prevention
To prevent injuries, attention should be paid to the introductory part of the lesson, namely the warm-up. As a rule, this part of the lesson is usually treated with disdain, which can lead to dislocations and damage to the ligaments.
The next reason that increases the risk of injury is the lack of material and technical equipment, namely small gyms.
Also, the cause of injury can be poor equipment involved (clothes, shoes, protective equipment). The chance of injury increases greatly in case of poor preparation of sports equipment, namely: poor fastening of shells; hidden defects of shells that were not previously detected during diagnostics.
Another not unimportant reason for the increased risk of injury is the unsatisfactory sanitary and hygienic condition of halls and grounds: improperly designed and built sports grounds, poor ventilation, poor lighting of the place, low building temperature. Unfavorable meteorological conditions: high humidity and air temperature; rain, snow, strong wind.
Medical examination and, in principle, the lack of medical control. Often allowing a student to attend classes without a medical examination can lead to injury. In some cases, neglect of medical control can even lead to death.
The low level of upbringing of students, leading to a violation of discipline, frivolity in insurance, inattention and haste also increase the risk of injury.
Research method
Survey and testing for the presence of injuries among students of the Northern (Arctic) Federal University.
Tasks of the survey and testing:
Find out how often students of the Northern (Arctic) Federal University face the problem of injuries in university sports based on surveys and tests, as well as understand how injuries affect the future life of students.
Scale and evaluation criteria:
What section do you belong to in physical culture? (General physical training / Swimming / Athletic gymnastics)
Have you been injured in physical education classes? (Yes / No)
Classification of the injury?
If you had injuries during physical education classes, how serious were they? (Light / Medium / Heavy / Extremely heavy)
How long did it take you to recover from your injury? (Less than a week / Week - month / Month - 3 months / 3 months - a year / More than a year)
6) Does a past injury prevent you from realizing your sports capabilities today? (Yes/Partly/No)

38% of students were injured in physical education classes.
The predominant classification of injury is dislocation. 40% of students received this injury in physical education classes.
Students who rated their injury as mild - 53%, as moderate - 33%, as severe - 14%.
After an injury, 20% of students have some problems in realizing their physical goals.
The percentage of injuries in athletic gymnastics - 45%, general physical training - 36%, swimming - 14%.
Result
The study identified some of the most common types of injuries. Some of the most traumatic areas of physical education and one of the safest have been identified. Also, the impact of injuries on the future achievements of students was determined. The survey was conducted among students of the Lomonosov Northern (Arctic) Federal University.
