Due to the fact that the language acts as an important tool for the formation of a comprehensively developed personality, language competence and the study of foreign languages ​​become its necessary components. The goal of linguistic education in higher education is the formation of a person as an individual: the development of his spiritual strength, abilities, the elevation of needs, the education of a morally responsible and socially adapted personality.

Currently, there is a contradictory trend in relation to the Latin language. On the one hand, there is a decrease in the role of the Latin language in the modern cultural and educational process. On the other hand, it is impossible to do without this language in term formation, since it is a means of expanding the general linguistic horizons.

Meanwhile, the Latin language has long been an inexhaustible source for the formation of international socio-political and natural-science, technical terminology, which is characterized by various cultural and historical associations. Latinisms occupy a significant place in the international vocabulary of many languages ​​of the world, especially European ones.

It is impossible not to note the great general educational value of the Latin language, since it helps to analyze more deeply the vocabulary of the Russian language, into which many Latin roots have passed, creating a number of new words. We should especially highlight the winged Latin maxims, which can be divided into general cultural and so-called specially professional.

For example, the aphorisms of worldly wisdom include such expressions as “Festina lente” - “Hurry up slowly”, “Ne fidem habueris homini blandienti!” - "Do not trust a flatterer"! A number of expressions are associated with certain historical situations: "Alea jacta est" - "The die is cast." Special professional maxims include medical, legal sayings, popular expressions that arose in the field of political activity, etc.

It is worth saying that the Latin language is also the language of linguistic terminology, which is still used to describe any language in the world.

At present, the Latin language is a resource base for understanding the branches of law, mastering specialized terminology, as well as a means of humanizing the educational process, which is carried out by reading classical texts, studying popular expressions, etc., therefore, we can draw the following conclusion about the importance of the Latin language in modern sociocultural dynamics.
