Children of primary school age - 9-10 years old are not yet adults, but they already want to be. Growing up at this young age is not a simple process. Changes in the behavior and mood of the child are very different.

Undoubtedly, it is worth not just saying "no" to the child, but explaining the reason for the refusal, talking to him and then he will understand why they did it, and not otherwise. The peculiarity of this age is that the child is very active during this period, he is constantly looking for adventures, loves physical exercises, outdoor games.

Intellectually, he likes to explore everything around him, he thinks well and understands - this is the so-called "golden age of memory". Emotionally, he sharply expresses his feelings, first speaks, and only then does; freely shows his emotions, and quickly gets involved in disputes; at the same time, a sense of humor develops, a strong desire to tell funny stories; of course, the child has his own personal fears, which he will not tell in order to look like an adult. Socially, the child begins to feel independent, gradually adapts to society and socialization.

Children at this age are not yet fully, but they understand very well how life works, so they are already trying to build interpersonal relationships with both adults and peers. Younger students actively differ in tastes and interests: one likes pop music, the other folk. The child adapts to the environment where the environment around him begins to change, while the child is increasingly moving away from adults and tends to spend his free time with peers as often as possible.

In primary school age (9-10 years), children are aware of their small maturity. Of course, the child begins to form a personal self-esteem, where it will be important to him what his peers and teachers think about him. In difficult moments of a student's life, it is necessary to talk more, explain, and help to sort out what causes difficulties. Of course, it is best to use simpler phrases where children can easily understand an adult. The most important thing in the life of a junior student is support. It should be from parents, teachers, peers, he needs to know that he is treated very well.

A child's critical assessment of himself speaks of his need for a good assessment of his creative personality, both from peers and from adults. The child should have internal motivation, attention, regulation of his behavior. During the period of growing up with a child, it is better to live all emotions together, whether it is joy, happiness or disappointment, he needs to know that adults will always be there and will support no matter what.

The "feeling of adulthood", not yet supported by real responsibility, is a special form of self-consciousness that arises during the transition period and determines the basic relations of younger schoolchildren with the world. Also, self-esteem is very important, it must be adequate, you do not need to put yourself above others, but it is unacceptable to belittle. In primary school age, there is a need for self-knowledge, where the child is looking for his boundaries of the inner Self.

When working with children, it is necessary to remember and take into account the fact that their body has not yet been formed and is very "fragile": activity decreases rapidly, tenacious memory, but a small amount of arbitrary attention, and there is also a predisposition to play. The main pedagogical method of working with children of primary school age is the reproductive, explanatory-illustrative, and emotional-figurative method.
