The most significant figure in the field of agriculture is an agronomist, who carries out and implements tasks for the cultivation and improvement of various types of crops.

His duties also include the organization and improvement of the quality of the labor process of subordinates. Carrying out the latest achievements of modern science in the agricultural sector, the agronomist is more than a "rural" engineer. An agronomist is at the same time a practical scientist, a breeder, a foreman of agricultural brigades and much more.

The history of the emergence of the profession of Agronomist. How did the profession arise? How did the profession develop?

Many centuries ago, the profession of an agronomist was born. From the moment humanity learned how to cultivate fields, a systematic approach to the cultivation of cultivated plants was also needed. It was agronomists who made "home" crops from wild, chaotically distributed plants in nature, which could be grown under control and predicted yields. It was the profession of an agronomist that enabled humanity to make a qualitative leap in its development thousands of years ago.

Significance for society

Humanity is not decreasing, but only increasing from year to year. And even now, the problem of nutrition for all people of the planet is as acute as possible. Along with the growth in the number of people, the demand for the profession of agronomist is also growing. Without proper nutrition, which is provided, including by agronomists, humanity will simply die out. Only agronomists can reasonably say when it is worth planting or harvesting, how to deal with pests, as well as what measures to apply to plants to protect them in bad weather.

The profession of an agronomist is an agricultural specialist in the field of crop production, agriculture, breeding, agrochemistry and other sciences, which are combined into a science called agronomy. He controls the entire production cycle, from the purchase of seeds and preparation of the soil for sowing to the storage of the harvested crop.

In addition to working in the field, the agronomist is responsible for drawing up production plans and accounting documentation, and he also manages his subordinates.

This knowledge and skills allow you to raise the yield of plants in the field, focusing on the quality of the soil and taking into account pests, as well as current climatic conditions.

Requirements for the profession of agronomist

Agronomists are trained in agricultural institutes and technical schools, therefore, there should be a specialized higher or specialized secondary education.

It carries out such activities as:

- prepare the soil for sowing and planting crops;

- use fertilizers to increase fertility;

- monitor the preparation and storage of seeds or planting material;

- fight pests;

- sow, take care of crops and when to harvest.

The agronomist spends a lot of time outdoors. Therefore, the main qualities:

- good physical health;

- strong immunity;

- endurance;

- no allergy to plants.

From personal qualities it is necessary to distinguish:

- mindfulness;

- learning ability;

- ability to make quick decisions;

- respond to emergency and non-standard situations.

It can be considered that an agronomist is one of the most important people in agriculture, since he is responsible for both strategic planning of work and daily control and guidance in the fields.

The profession of an agronomist is not very popular today, meanwhile, it definitely deserves attention. A person holding such a position gets at least an interesting job, because he is responsible for the harvest and for the fertility of the land.

However, this profession, like any other, has its pros and cons. The advantages of this profession are as follows:

- an agronomist is unlikely to be out of work, because such a person is responsible for growing agricultural products, and the farm will not cease to exist in any case, because this sphere literally feeds all people;

- the agronomist has a wide choice of places where he can get a job, for example, at state

agricultural enterprises, private farms, greenhouses and fruit nurseries;

- high significance for society;

- the opportunity to spend a lot of time outdoors and close to the ground, which is important for health
