Improvement of information computer technologies and their active implementation in the educational process in the XXI century aims teachers to search for new forms, methods and means of training in military universities.

Digital educational resources, in particular electronic textbooks, have sufficient potential to simulate conditions that simulate the "immersion" of students in a professionally-oriented environment [2], including a foreign language, thereby increasing motivation to study disciplines and creating a basis for further self-education.

In studies on the problem of implementing an electronic textbook [1, 5], it is noted that this type of educational tools: is aimed at the productive activities of students who can perform in the educational process, as the object and subject of cognitive activity; provides variability in the management of cognitive activity in view of different forms of providing information; assumes both individual and joint work of students; creates the conditions for a differentiated approach through the individual pace of work, individual interests, the level of training of the student, various types of clarity, the presence of feedback; ensures the development of independence as an important quality of personality of a future specialist through reflection, self-awareness, self-control, self-correction, self-selection of material for a more detailed study of the topic.

At the stage of higher education in a military University, the electronic textbook provides timely access to rapidly updated information resources for cadets and is aimed, among other things, at optimizing the process of formation and development of professional qualities of students in the process of "professional development" [3].

Many researchers see the purpose of introducing information educational resources in the framework of digitalization of education as an earlier – at the stage of higher education – accumulation of professional experience and "entry" into professional activity. It is important that the content of the textbook reflects the real world of the student's future profession [4]. In this case, it is important to abandon the simple transfer of knowledge from the teacher to the student, because this knowledge is not filled with personal meaning for him. In other words, an electronic textbook should be a complete project of the future professional activity of the student, combining both educational and future professional activities [2]. In this case, the acquisition of knowledge is not isolated from the real profession, but by "superimposing on the canvas of future professional activity".

The electronic textbook developed at the Department of foreign languages is focused on the development of independent activity of cadets and is aimed at modeling the future professional activity of students, which is especially important in a military University and is focused on the organization of independent activity of cadets [1].

The electronic textbook is used within the discipline "Foreign language" relying on specialty "Application And Operation Of Means And Systems For Special Monitoring", because knowledge of a foreign language for specialists of this profile is important in terms of the need to master basic terminology in professional activities and dynamic industry that requires rapid exchange of information using both native and foreign languages.

The advantage of the electronic version of the textbook is the ability to include not only text information, but also authentic audio and video materials [5] that contain problematic situations that contribute to a more realistic immersion in the professional environment during classes and when organizing independent activities of cadets during classroom hours and extracurricular training. At the same time, the cadets determine and choose the variants of problem situations independently, using reference materials of the electronic textbook and the knowledge obtained during the study of special disciplines.

Each module of the electronic textbook includes a sub-unit "out-of-Class independent activity" ("Outclass Activity"), as well as units with additional texts, reference information and video materials.

Besides, the unit of the electronic textbook " act Independently", an algorithm for step-by-step implementation of independent activities is proposed, which is necessary for its effective organization. Referring to the proposed sequence of actions at the initial stage, the cadets acquire knowledge about independent activity, its organization, which allows the cadet to avoid difficulties in the process of algorithmization of their actions.

The organization of independent activities based on an electronic textbook, taking into account the individual characteristics of cadets, performing differentiated tasks helps to increase motivation and awareness of the value of independent activities for further professional self-realization.

Cadets choose their own form of reporting the results of their activities. To ensure greater autonomy in organizing independent activities of cadets, the unit of the electronic textbook "Act Independently" offers recommendations for preparing a report, presentation, writing an abstract, essay, or scientific article. To provide access to additional information, authentic texts and video materials are included, gathered together not being divided according to the contest of topics. The purpose of such organization of educational material is to teach students to independently select the necessary material on the studied topics, analyzing and systematizing large amounts of information.

At the Department of foreign languages Of the military Academy in Voronezh, experimental work was carried out, in which cadets of 4-5 courses took part (a total of 87 cadets: 43 people-a control group, 44 people-an experimental group) of the specialty 11.05.03 "Application and operation of special monitoring tools and systems", the results of which confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed structure of the electronic textbook for the organization of independent activities of cadets. The structure of the electronic textbook is implemented in the educational process of the Military Academy of Voronezh and Krasnodar flight school.

Implementation in the educational process e-learning tools such as electronic textbooks, allows you to automate the process of studying and to create conditions for greater autonomy of students in hours of independent activity to implement practice-oriented training approach, the main purpose of which, at the stage of higher education, is the adaptation of students to future professional activity, the results of which greatly depend on the development of information technologies and their introduction in all spheres of society.
