Many people accept this word without thinking about its origin. The term slang came into use in the English lexicon at the beginning of the 19th century, and then it indicated a discrepancy with the established language norms. At the moment, the word is denoted as: «Slang - A variety of speech characterised by newly coines and rapidly changing vocabulary, used by the young or by social and professional groups for 'in-group' communication and thus tending to prevent understanding by the rest of the speech community». In Russian, slang words came from foreign languages. Initially, slang consists of phraseological units that were used in separate social groups.

For example, youth slang is a linguistic phenomenon, the existence of which is limited not only by age, but also by time. Simply put, from the slang that our parents had in their youth, we will understand not everything, and they will not understand the new words in our speech. Slang in adolescents is a code language. In it, most words are confused and hidden in a clear meaning. In other words, adolescents create their own language so that the older generation does not understand them, they had their own secrets. All generations at one time or another had their own "fashionable" words.

Slang, as the stage of maturation. These words arise on their own when a teenager tries to explain something and selects a suitable expression or comparison. After the word gains its popularity in a particular group. Philologists believe that the main centers for the dissemination of new words are Moscow and St. Petersburg. Words in slang come from computer games, from the words of prisoners and drug addicts.

Teen slang of the 21st century comes from the TV screen. Films about gangsters, action films, trailers fill up new words. Viewers of films of precisely such genres of negative characters have always been more loved and considered steeper. Curses, previously purely American, now penetrate into the Russian language. With them come indecent gestures. All this is sad.

Not all teenagers let slang into their speech. And thanks to them, our Russian language is not as spoiled as it could be. Some use slang only as a joke. I think that slang is a temporary phenomenon. A teenager is looking for himself in this world, accepts or rejects the norms adopted in society. As a result, he finds himself in the subculture as an alternative to the routine. This world is not difficult to comprehend, unlike the real one.

The meaning of all slang is quite simple:

* desire to stand out from the crowd

* desire for freedom

* protest against the whole adult system

* and in the end, slang saves from the scarcity of vocabulary.

In conclusion, I can say that it will be very interesting to see how words will change in subsequent generations. Most likely, we will understand little of what our children and grandchildren say.
