MORTGAGE LENDING IN RUSSIA AND THE USA

The mortgage – one of pledge forms when a real estate remains in the property of the debtor and the creditor in case of failure of the debtor to follow the obligation acquires the right to sell this real estate.
The mortgage has several characteristic features that differ it from other forms of crediting:
1. The interest rate is lower.
2. It is given for the long period (5-50 years).
3. Rather large package of documents is demanded.
4. There are strict requirements to the client.

To define a tendency of the development of mortgage lending in Russia, it is necessary to analyse previous years. In the table given below you can observe the change of an interest rate from 2013 to 2015.

At the end of 2018 an interest rate is approximately 9-10%. The tendency to the reduction of interest rate is observed. Decrease in rates on mortgage lending is possible even to 6-7%. According to Dmitry Medvedev the macroeconomic is already ready for a rate in 6-7% per annum.
