The total market capitalization of the 100 most expensive Russian public companies by the end of 2017 grew by 1.3%, to $ 643 billion; the composition of the first three did not change, but the new leader was Sberbank, according to the annual ranking of the 100 most expensive public companies at the beginning of 2018, compiled by the agency RIA.

The composition of the top three most expensive companies in Russia, as in 2016, has not changed, but all three companies have switched places. "Rosneft", which in 2016 moved from the pedestal of the long-term leader - "Gazprom", in 2017 could not hold on to the first place and by the results of the last year took the third line. This is explained by a decrease in the capitalization of Rosneft by 24% per year, to 53.3 billion dollars.

The leading position in the rating is now occupied by Sberbank, whose capitalization in the past year has grown by almost 40%, to 84 billion dollars. On the second line following the results of the last year the long-term leader - "Gazprom" with capitalization in 53.35 billion dollars has settled down. Capitalization of Gazprom declined by 11%, but it still allowed him a little (only $ 45 million) to overtake Rosneft.

Thus, Sberbank, surpassing the capitalization of Gazprom and Rosneft, has consolidated the status of the most expensive company in Russia. For comparison: the capitalization of Rosneft is now 3.5 trillion rubles, Gazprom - 3.1 trillion rubles. The State Bank is more expensive than Rosneft for 1 trillion rubles.A significant share in the authorized capital of Sberbank belongs to non-resident legal entities: as of May 2, 2017, they owned 45.41% of the shares, according to the bank's own data. Shares of the state bank are the most popular investment from foreign funds, they are in the portfolio of almost everyone.Paper Sberbank is a favorite among investors, they recommend buying everything, said analyst Aton Mikhail Ganelin, before these shares grew faster than the market, which explains their high investment attractiveness. "The ratio of capitalization to the profit of the bank is still very low, Sberbank is underestimated from this point of view," he adds. In the future, the bank's shares will continue to grow, Ganelin predicts. Consensus-forecast of analysts on Bloomberg - 233.7 rubles. per share for 2018.

Capitalization of Sberbank against the background of the rise in price of ordinary and preferred shares exceeded $ 100 billion.

By the evening of Thursday, January 25, ordinary shares of Sberbank reached the absolute maximum and traded at 250.64 rubles. for a piece (an increase of 1.26%), and preferred - for 209 rubles. (growth of 2.35%). This is evidenced by the data of the Moscow stock exchange.

Considering the growth of shares, the capitalization of Sberbank's common and preferred shares reached 5.619 trillion rubles, which in dollar terms is $ 100.476 billion (at the rate of the Central Bank on January 26 - 55.9288 rubles).Earlier in January, Sberbank reported an annual profit growth of 35.3% compared to 2016. In 2017, net profit under RAS amounted to 674.115 billion rubles. Shares of Sberbank could rise in price against the background of "general market euphoria," believes senior analyst of Finam Group Sergei Drozdov. "But there are also fundamental reasons: in recent years, the Bank of Russia cleared the clearing from unscrupulous banks, in his opinion. Sberbank has become the main beneficiary of this clearing, "he said.

Drozdov noted that the organization shows "positive financial results", which makes the growth of quotations "natural." "When quotes show a new high, it's difficult to predict where the next maximum will be. But there is a growth prospect for the shares, and in a short position on Sberbank should not stand up unequivocally, "the analyst concluded.

"Sberbank has a net profit, and it grows rapidly. Investors look at the size of net profit and how quickly it grows, extrapolating growth for the future. In addition, Sberbank may increase dividends in the future, "said Timur Nigmatullin, an analyst with Otkritie Broker. "Sberbank will keep its growth rates by inertia, profits will continue to grow, and the delay will decrease. I think that these are good stocks, they will still be able to grow, they will push the market up, "he said.Over the past year, Sberbank issued loans for 13.5 trillion rubles, of which 11.4 trillion were loans to corporate customers (an increase of 25% by 2016), and 2.1 trillion rubles. on loans to private customers (an increase of 38%). The bank said that the record for the volume of loans issued to private customers is updated every month from summer.

"December was the most productive month: the volume of issued retail loans exceeded 270 billion rubles. The historical maximum was exceeded for both housing and consumer loans," the report of Sberbank said.
