Andrey Dmitrievich Sakharov is known as one of the largest scientist of the present times by his outstanding works on physics of elementary particles and сosmology. He is the author of the basic idea of thermonuclear synthesis. It seemed almost unreal, but some time later the world science estimated the research on disintegration of a proton as the greatest experiment of the twentieth century. His original ideas in cosmology and early history of the Universe are also acknowledged by the world scientific community. A.D. Sakharov is also well-known as an outstanding public figure, a fearless fighter for the human rights and for the establishment of universal values on the planet. As a person of strong human believes, high moral principles, A.D. Sakharov always remained sincere and fair. He was the first who really tried to fight for human rights. He stood for international security and disarmament, national independence, cooperation and peace and scale down military confrontation [1]. In December 1979 after the Soviet Union led ground invasion of Afghanistan Sakharov`s protest sounded fearlessly. In January 1980 A.D. Sakharov was sent to exile to Gorky where he stayed till December, 1986. Andrey Dmitrievich was deprived of all his state awards and ranks by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. It was the most tragic period of his biography: isolation from the world, from the big scientific work… He was under the total control but in December 1986. A.D. Sakharov came back to Moscow. In 1989 he was elected the deputy at the 1st Congress of People's Deputies. In December, 14th, 1989 he died. Sakharov’s phenomenon makes us appreciate the life and deeds of this person. Andrey Sakharov`s International Art Festivals "Russian Art and the World" have been held since 1992. The motto of the festival is the idea of indissoluble integrity of national and world culture [2]. The bright humanist ideas of the festival attract a lot of famous composers, musicians and artists from all over the world. It unites such outstanding artists as Denis Matsuev, Yuri Bashmet, Gennady Rozhdestvensky Orchestra «Virtuosi of Moscow» and many others. In 2017 the Sakharov`s International Art Festival had 17 outstanding programs. It is the first of all Russian festivals adopted by the European Association of the Festivals. The prominent academician appealed to the world`s community to stop the arms race.

A.D. Saharov advanced the slogan: «Peace, Progress and Human rights». The best way to pay last respects to this outstanding person is to follow his motto.
