The current interest in the problem lies in the fact that nowadays «logistics» has become one of the most developed sectors of the economy. In the modern postindustrial society there are a lot of changes in the focus and priorities concerning various spheres of people`s activity. The main of them are industrial, communicative and technological innovations, market economy, business and international relationships. Such processes as «globalization» and « logistics» occur in the world. They recall the necessity to reconstruct and reorganize present warehouses and transportation objects. This problem deals with the sphere of organizing the transportation-logistics complexes and is very relevant for many countries in the world and Russia as well.

Logistics is defined as a business planning framework for the management of material, service, information and capital flows. It includes the increasingly complex information, communication and control systems required in today's business environment [1:2]. TLC is multifunctional industrial objects which coordinate the interaction between various kinds of vehicles and some other functions (overloading the goods from one vehicle into another, sorting out and package content of the outbound shipment, short and long-term storage of the goods, customs procedures). Along with the organization of the storehouse flow TLC function as stations to receive and sent passengers and provide business services, and information support.

The authors of the given paper has analyzed some foreign and domestic resources and came to the conclusion that from the period of 1960-80s practical and theoretical-scientific base on the studied issue had been formed. It was focused on the functional and technical aspects of forming the warehouses and in the structures of industrial enterprises and city areas. A special role belongs to the large domestic research and design institutes with many years of experience. A special group of scientific works are the General plans of the cities beginning of the XXI century, primarily Moscow and St. Petersburg, which determine the development of urban planning processes in the country. One of the examples is the «Logoprom Sormovo» .It is the largest privately owned intermodal logistics complex with the divisions of warehouses, customs, railway, automotive and container logistics. Total area of the complex is 260 000 sq. m. The «Logoprom Sormovo» is the only TLC in the Nizhegorodsky area which possesses transport and logistics infrastructure, machines and mechanisms for processing and storing all types of cargo ships, including containerized, hazardous, oversized, etc., arriving by railway and automobile transport [ 3;4;5]. The complex has good transport accessibility. It is 4 km away from the Federal highway M7 Volga. The complex has its own access roads with the length of 16 km, adjacent to the Gorky railway station.

Today the experience to design TLC is limited by the construction of the trade warehouses complexes and technical and architecture and planning modernization of the existing warehouse and production facilities.
