One of the great actors who have made a strong impression on me is Konstantin Habensky. I think he is a brilliant actor and has a lot of talent. All his characters are bright personalities, and Constantine acts them perfectly.

Konstantin Habensky was born on January 11, 1972. His father worked as an engineer and mother was a teacher of mathematics. Konstantin has an older sister Natalia, who is a soloist of the St. Petersburg Jewish Music Ensemble

Constantine went to the kindergarten in St. Petersburg but later the family moved to Nizhnevartovsk and he attended the school there. The spent four years there and then in 1985 the Habensky family moved back to St. Petersburg.

Konstantin Habensky didn’t think about acting career in his childhood. He dreamed only of graduating the school as soon as possible. After the 8th grade, Konstantin Habensky entered the College of Aviation Instrumentation and Automation. However, after studying three courses in the college and defending his course work he realized he knew absolutely nothing about the technical side of the case. He knew everything in theory, but when it came to practice, Habensky didn’t know anything. Thus he decided to try himself in another area.

After graduating the college Konstantin Habensky spent all his free with his "informal" friends. Once the whole crew was invited to "Saturday" studio theater: the directors wanted to instill in children a love of theater. Habensky and a copule of his friends were the only people who became really interested. Constantine started to work as a fitter but he appeared on stage in the crowd once the case stood out. The hobby has become so strong that Constantine decided to link his life to theater.

Habensky entered the studio of Filshtinsky in the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography in 1990. Mikhail Truhin, Michael Porechenkov and Andrew Zibrov were among his classmates. During the studies they all became good friends. After graduation, the young actor played in the "Crossroads" Experimental Theater and he joined the Arkady Raikin "Satyricon" Moscow Theater in 1996 where he acted mostly secondary parts. Habensky played in "The Threepenny Opera" and "Cyrano de Bergerac". He entered the stage of the Leningrad City Council Theatre in 1996. The audience memorized his performance in such plays as "Woyzeck", "Waiting for Godot", "King, Queen, Jack," and, of course, the main role in the the play "Caligula". While acting he was noticed by Oleg Tabakov who invited him in his theater. Constantine Habensky made his debut on the stage of Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre in 2002 where he acted Zilov in the play "Duck Hunt". Habensky became a part of the famous troupe of this theater in 2003.

The first part in a film Konstantin Khabenskiy got in 1994. He was granted an episode in eccentric comedy by Vladimir Zaykin "Whom God will send. But this movie remained unspotted by the viewers, that is why it can't be called an actual debut. During these years Khabenskiy appears on TV performing as a host. In 1998 the actor was shot in three movies at once: in Russian-Hungarian phantasmagorical detective melodrama "Natasha" by Tomash Toth, in melodrama " Women's property" by Dmitriy Meskhiev and social drama "Khrustalev, the car!". Khabenskiy was looking great in the frame. The first parts actor got absolutely accidentally, but owing to them Khabenskiy was noticed and in the short run he was invited to play part in thriller "Admirer" by Nikolay Lebedev. After that he starred in one of the main roles in drama "House for the rich" by Vladimir Fokin. For this role Konstantin Khabenskiy was granted the award in nomination "Best actor" at Gatchinsky cinema festival "Literature and cinematic". Case officer's Igor Plekhanov role in soap opera "Destructive force" made Khabenskiy famous. But this part brought not only the fame. Khabenskiy found a special cinematic type that became beloved by the audience, that is why it was decided to shoot him in the further episode. This could brought to likelihood of becoming the actor of one role, but it didn't happen to Konstantin Khabenskiy. "Destructive force" brought him fame.

In 2000 Khabenskiy starred as Gershuny in soap opera "Empire under attack" and in 2001 in movie "Mechanical Suite" by Dmitriy Meskhiev. His work in the movie "In the motion" by Phillip Yankovski also didn't remain unnoticed. Khabenskiy played the leading role of journalist Sasha Gur'ev, who was sensations' hunter. In 2004 the first Russian blockbuster "The night watch" appeared on the screens. Konstantin Khabenskiy played the main role of Anton Gorodetskiy in this film.

In 2006 Konstantin Khabenskiy starred in the filmstrip called "Peak time", set on the novel of Ezhi Stavitski. During that time the actor was shot in the movies a lot. The most notable works of the actor became the parts of Aleksandr Kolchak in movie "Admiral" and Kost'ya Lukashin in the following part of legendary film "Fate's irony".

In 2008 action movie "Wanted" by Tymur Bekmambetov was released. James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie were the partners of Khabenskiy on the set. In 2010 actor starred in movie "Lucky trouble" directed by Levaan Gabriadze and produced by Tymur Bekmambetov. Milla Jovovich was the partner of Khabenskiy in this movie.

In 2012 audience could enjoy the perfomance of star crew in soap opera, called "The white guard". Besides Khabenskiy, Mihail Porechenkov, Kseniya Rapoport, Sergei Garmash, Fedor Bondarchuk, Evgeniy Dyatlov, Arthur Smolyanikov, Igor Vernok, Evgeniya Dobrovol'skaya, Ekaterina Vilkova, Aleksei Serebriyalov also starred in the movie. In 2013 movie "The Geographer Drank His Globe Away", starring Konstantin and Elena Lyadova received award "Nika" as the best movie of the year and 4 more awards, including "Best actor" award.

Talking about his personal life - on 12th January, 2000 Konstantin Khabenskiy got married to a journalist, who was working on the Saint Petersburg's broadcasting station, - Anastasia Khabenska. In 2003 Anastasia entered the movie "Lines of fate" as a journalist, and movie "Destructive force 5" playing the part of interpreter, in 2004 - "Sapiens", in 2009 - movie "9 months".

On 25th of September in 2007 Anastasia gave birth to couple's son - Ivan Khabenskiy. In the short time after Ivan's birth, a tumor in Konstantin's wife's brain was found. She was 34 years old. The first surgery of removing the tumor was done. Several weeks after in the same hospital Khabenskiy's wife was surged again. After that Konstantin moved Nastya to a hospital in LA, USA. American doctors have achieved remission, when the cells of the tumor stopped to divide. However, it turned out in vain. Anastasia was released from the hospital, but no improvement occured. Doctors thought, that Nastya could live around 10 years more, but on 1st of December, 2008 after a year of treatment, Anastasia died. She was buries on 15th of December in 2008 on Troekurov cemetery in Moscow. The loss of wife turned to actor a real strike.

Currently, Konstantin Khabenskiy is a founder of a charity fund, which aims to help children with cancer. At a charity fund in different cities of Russia creative development studios were established.

To my personal opinion, Konstantin is the most prominent actor in the history of Russian cinema. I can watch his films numerous of times and each single time I get a great satisfaction of his performance. He is able to be hilarious and serious, brute and sensual. I'm always fascinated how this actor performs such different characters. It is absolutely incredible!
